Origin: Oblique head: base of 2, 3, 4 metatarsals. Transverse head: plantar metatarsal ligaments and deep transverse ligament

Insertion: Lateral side of base of proximal phalanx of big toe and lateral sesamoid.

Actions: Adducts and flexes metatarsophalangeal joint of big toe. Supports transverse arch

Innervation: Deep branch of lateral plantar nerve (S2, 3)

Insertion: Greater tuberosity on the humerus

Actions:External rotation, 
Shoulder adduction

Innervation: Axillary nerve

Daily uses: Brushing hair

Subscapularis

Origin: Anterior (costal) surface of the scapula

Insertion: Lesser tuberosity of the humerus

Actions: Internal rotation

Innervation: Upper and lower subscapular nerves

Daily uses: Tucking the back of your shirt into your trousers
